Privacy Policy

Who we are
Cyprus City (“the app”) is an informational city guide for Cyprus. Contact: privacy@cyp.city.
Data we collect
- Device identifier — a random UUID stored on your device. Used to sync optional saved vehicles, notification preferences, Telegram link, and (if enabled) analytics.
- Analytics (optional, on by default; you can turn it off in Settings → Privacy):
- Screens, tabs and features you open; app version; device model; OS; language; selected city.
- Approximate network location — IP address and derived country/city (from the server connection).
- Precise location — GPS coordinates, only when the system location permission is granted and analytics is enabled. Used to understand where the app is used, not to sell ads.
- Optional fines profile — if you save an ARC number or vehicle plate for fine / road-tax reminders, this is stored on our server until you delete it in Settings.
- Telegram (optional) — if you connect Telegram for notifications, we store the link between your device UUID and your Telegram chat.
- In-app promo banners — we count impressions (views) and taps on our own admin-managed banners. This is first-party usage statistics only. We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA), do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and do not sell this data.
How we use data
To provide city guides, maps, reminders, optional automated checks you enable, improve the product via analytics, and measure how our own promotional banners perform. We do not sell personal data and we do not use data for cross-app tracking.
Third-party and open sources
The app is an aggregator: it shows and links to information from public and official sources (for example government sites such as RTD, OpenStreetMap, news sites, cinema sites, and classifieds such as Bazaraki). When you open an external link or listing, that third party’s own privacy policy applies. We do not claim ownership of those third-party listings or websites.
Website and domain
The marketing site and API are served at cyp.city. Contact emails use the @cyp.city domain.
Retention and deletion
ARC and saved vehicles are deleted when you tap “Delete fines data” in Settings, or when you email us after uninstalling. Analytics events are retained for product metrics and purged periodically. Promo impression/click counters are aggregated statistics.
